The Ali Zafar and Meesha Shafi case in the court took an exciting turn during the last hearing when the latter’s lawyer offered to pay for the travel expenses of the former to make sure she is present in the court upon next hearing.
Ali Zafar‘s lawyer made the offer after Meesha Shafi missed another court hearing. Meesha Shafi has missed multiple hearings ever since the commencement of the case. She is currently in Canada.
Last year in December, Meesha Shafi publicly came out against Ali Zafar had alleged that she was harassed on multiple occasions by the singer turned actor. In response, Ali Zafar filed a defamation case against her in a local court.
Despite the fact that the case has been going on for months, there is still no sign of its conclusion.
In September, Meesha Shafi along with 8 others were booked by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for their alleged involvement in a smear campaign against singer-actor Ali Zafar.
In the recent hearing, counsel for Meesha told the court that his client is available for cross examination via video link, which the Ali Zafar‘s lawyer objected. During the hearing, Ali Zafar through his lawyer presented his offer of paying for the travel expenses.
The hearing was adjourned till November 14. Furthermore, the honorable court also directed the defendant to present her witnesses for their evidence on Nov 14, 2020.
