Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is one of those Pakistani singers who have a huge fan following all around the globe. The Zaroori Tha singer has been doing tons of concerts in Pakistan and other countries making him one of the highest earning singers.
Now, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has started probe into his earnings from the concerts held abroad. In a letter to Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), it has sought the agency’s help in this regard.
FBR has requested FIA to provide Khan’s travel history from from July 1, 2014, to date.
On the other hand, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s representatives claimed that they have not received any notice in this regard. As per his manager, Muhammad Amir, they are looking into this matter.
The renowned singer has a history with the Federal Tax Authority as he has been send notices multiple times. In 2017, his accounts were seized over evasion of tax. The FBR had taken action against him for tax evasion worth Rs3 million in 2015.
Just last year, he had to pay over 0.6 million rupees of tax after his income tax returns for the year 2014 were audited.
