Meesha Shafi, Ali Gul Pir and 7 others booked by FIA for defaming Ali Zafar

Meesha Shafi and Ali Zafar‘s legal battle in the court has been going for a long time now. The case took another turn on Monday, after the Federal Investigation Agency‘s cyber crime wing registered a case against Meesha Shafi, Ali Gul Pir and 7 others.

As per FIA, the case has been registered upon the request of Ali Zafar who alleged that a character assassination campaign has been launched against him on social media. The singer and actor had also shared details of the Facebook and Twitter accounts, which were allegedly doing his character assassination. 




Meesha Shafi along with Iffat Omar, Leena Ghani, Maham Javaid, , Fariha Ayub, Ali Gul, Haseemuz Zaman Khan, Humna Raza and Syed Faizan Raza have been booked under section 20 (1) of Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016 and R/W 109-PPC.

According to the federal agency, it summoned the aforementioned persons multiple time but either some of them didn’t even show up or their statements were unsatisfactory. FIA in its FIR stated that during the course of enquiry it is established all these people posted direct allegations on Twitter and Facebook against the complainant Ali Zafar




Federal Investigation Agency in its FIR gave a complete timeline of its investigation into the matter. 

In 2008, Meesha Shafi had publicly come out against Ali Zafar accusing the famous singer of sexual harassment.




Ali Zafar had denied all the allegations and announced to to take the matter to court.
